School Schedule To Help Create Structure Now That The Kids Are Home
Are you feeling overwhelmed now that the kids are home all day and we’re trying to figure out how you are going to manage school at home and create some structure?
We are here to help!
Here’s a schedule to help you create some structure for you and your kids.
Some other tips to help:
Create a space for school.
You may want to clean off the dining room table. Get a tray or a box to put all of their supplies for easy access so you can take it on and off for meals.
Treat the day as if it’s an ordinary school day. Have your kids get up and shower, get dressed (don’t stay in pj’s), and eat breakfast.
Morning is schoolwork.
Take a lunch and recess break.
Getting them outside will help tremendously with the cabin fever and to get out some pent up energy (which will also help you to stay sane!) Depending on where you live, let them ride their bike around the block, go for a walk together or have them read a book outside for 20 minutes (even if that means they need to bring blankets and put on their coats).
We are here to come alongside you during this time. We are all in this together!
Don’t hesitate to reach out to me to let me know how you’re feeling and what might help you to have more peace and connection with your kids during this time.
Remember to ask yourself the question – “When I look back 5-10 years from now, how do I remember this time?” Let’s make this time really count to building our kids up and having fun with them.
